Blue Springs South High School is excited to announce that Chris Miller has been named the third head coach in the history of the Jaguar Baseball Program. Coach Miller will assume the head coaching position at the conclusion of the 2026 season. He will take over for Ben Baier, who is stepping away from the program after serving as head coach since the 2009 season.
“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Coach Miller as our new head baseball coach here at Blue Springs South. Chris brings a ‘kids first’ mentality as well as an incredible work ethic to the position. As an integral part of our baseball staff the past 6 years, I know he will continue to build upon the culture and traditions that the baseball program has established” said Activities Director Jimmy Cain.
Coach Miller is a Social Studies teacher at South and is in his 6th year as an assistant coach in the Jaguar baseball program. He has 13 years of high school baseball coaching experience, having spent 7 years coaching baseball at Lee’s Summit West prior to his time with the Jaguars. “I am beyond humbled and grateful for the opportunity to lead the Blue Springs South Baseball Program. This program is synonymous with tradition, success, and a team-first mentality. The goal does not change; we plan to continue to build on that foundation” said Miller.
